A few days ago, Skid Row announced their new singer, former H.E.A.T frontman Erik Gronwall, and the internet went in to meltdown mode.
I get it, you all want Sebastian Bach back in the band, and I would be totally into it too, but it ain’t gonna happen…
What has happened, is one of the best rock singers of the modern generation has taken the job, and instantly, the band has announced a new album, set for release on October 14th and delivered a new single, the title track, “The Gangs All Here”.
“We are beyond excited to release this record. It has been a long time in the making and a lot of hard work has been put into it by the band and our producer Nick Raskulinecz. And the addition of Erik has lifted the songs to new heights.
Add all this to the fact that we start our world tour in Las Vegas with the Scorpions residency this Saturday at Zappos Theater makes it easy to say that Skid Row is going to have a great year.”
– Rachel Bolan and Snake Sabo
The track itself is high energy, and sits in the grey area between their self titled debut, and the masterpiece that is Slave to the Grind. Brimming with new energy, and enthusiasm, Skid Row sound like they have aged in reverse here.
This is a brilliant track, and based off of the single alone, I’m already prepared to call the upcoming album the bands best since the original line up was together.
Skid Row have had a few false starts in their attempt to move on, but I think they’ve finally found the way forward, and I’m over the moon for Snake, Rachel and the boys.
