Featuring former members of bands such as Volbeat, Mnemic, Hatesphere, Illdisposed and Raunchy, Blood Eagle has a definite pedigree with the heavy music world.

The band is the brainchild of Franz Hellboss and Gabriel Eftemie, who sought out an outlet to demonstrate their for their passion for Death Metal. A first EP was released in 2013, but then nothing, until 2019, when instead of releasing a full-length album, Blood Eagle chose to spread out their new music over three EP’s – one in September, one in October, and now part III in November.

Twelve minutes is all it takes to experience this particular portion of the “To Ride in Blood and Bathe in Greed” EP series, and while the vocals don’t necessarily connect with me (I’m a fan of a cleaner vocal style), musically, this hits all the marks.

Uncompromisingly heavy from the opening track “A Life That Rots Away” through “Worship the Wolf”, and “Wall of Hate”, this EP is overflowing with grinding guitars and brutal drumming that will surely force your head in a repetitive banging motion.

Take the twelve minutes to check it out.  I literally waited in line longer than that to get a coffee the other morning – this listening experience was infinitely more rewarding.
