Black Income, is a new rock identity emerging from the grunge-wave in the 90s, and combining elements of Stoner and Fuzz-Rock.  There are many musical elements to the Black Income sound, but they give it their own unique sound and feeling.

Here the band answer some questions as part of our “Introducing..” series.

What does the band name mean to you? 

Hehe.. not the first time we get asked about that… well to us it’s more like an alternative to the ordinary, more like rebelion of freedom, do what you wanna do, even if its includes you to stray from the system….

Where is the band based?

We’re based in Denmark.

How long have you been together?

We started out late 2011, so it’s safe to say 2012..

 What style of music do you play?

Black Income is a solid style Alternative Hard Rock band, we combine the best elements from the Post Grunge scene, with a more Fuzz And Stoned feel to the style, developing our own genre and sound, with a melodic twist.. 

Give us the story of the bands formation. 

We started out in 2012’ish, and we started recording our first album ‘Noise Pollution’ ( heh great name BTW), we recorded the first album in Medley Studio Copenhagen with producer Soren Andersen, the album was released in 2016 via Mighty Music, after touring with the album, in 2017 we started recording the new album ’unSOUND’, part of it is recorded in Medley Studio Copenhagen, and Tube IT Studio in Fredericia. This is the first album we release our self, keep all royalties and rights..

Tell us about your infuences.

We have a lot of influences, rooting in the 90’s Grunge scene with bands like Nirvana and SoundGarden, the energy and power of the music of that time we find very appealing, with that said we’re not here to repeat the history, with newer genres like the Stoner Rock scene, where bands like Fu Manchu and Clutch, we love the dirty grooves, and the low downtuned riff’s and that’s where we find the more Dark melodic vibend add it to the mix.

Tell us about your latest release.

Latest release is called Noise Pollution (fantastic name! – Shayne) , and are 12 Hard hitting track’s, critics from all over the world loved the album, so we did something right at that point.. hehe

Where is your music available?

Noise pollution is available on Vinyl and CD, our new album ‘unSOUND’ is going to be available on Limited Edition Yellow vinyl, and of course all major Streaming services.

What are your goals for the bands future?

Our major goal is to record more of our music, expanding our fanbase and spreading the spirit of true Rock’n Roll..

If you could share the stage with any other band or artist, who would you chose?

Depends on the scene, but we wouldn’t mind playing with bigger act’s like Foo Fighters etc…

What can you tell us about your live shows?

Energetic and Electrifying performance, we are a Live band… and that where we live and feel the music… so we love playing live, and we promise you one thing… you won’t forget a Black Income gig…

Do you have any upcoming gigs to promote?

We play one release gig in Denmark in september, but there is some tour planning in the pipeline for 2020, but it’s not official yet.

What do you think sets you apart from other bands?

There is so many great bands out there, but we feel we have developed our own unique Sound and Feel, and with our punkier and Stoned approach, we’re quite a different Rock Band with the dark melodic side we have… It’s not something you come across everyday. 

Explain why you think a new listener should give your music a go.

Well if you love Melodic Rock music, and love Grooving Riff’s.. you should check us out.. you wont regret it.

What has been your biggest achievement as a band, so far? 

We got a lot of great reviews of the first album, and we got nominated by Gaffa in 2017, for best Hard Rock act… besides that we have been lucky enough to support bands like, Exumer, Tygers of Pan Tang and Bullet..

What else do you hope to achieve?

We just wanna play music, we get a lot of love from countries like UK, Germany and the US.. so we plan to expand our horizon and hopefully do some touring in those countries.
