Introducing.. Vanilla Sugar.

Comprising Keyboards, Samples, and Live Guitar, Vanilla Sugar is definitely one of a kind. Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Vanilla Sugar is looking to change the way the public perceives music, and as you read on, you will find out more about this artists past, present and future – and how you can interact with Vanilla Sugar on a weekly basis.

What does the band name mean to you?

There are two versions of the name.. The PG version is that the name is dainty, and the music is raw and in your face!!!!!!

The R rated version (and entirely true) is this; I wanted to create something that was me, but not my name directly.  My nickname is JPVanilla, which brings the first part of the name into play…. the second half comes from the term “kitty” sugar … feel free to google it when you’re not at work or school… and voila! Vanilla Sugar.

Where is the band based?

Los Angeles, CA

It’s a mix of alternative & electronic music with a pop sensibility.

Tell me how Vanilla Sugar came together..

I created Vanilla Sugar on a computer and midi keyboard.

They are high energy and a real production.  Lots of lights and music!

Sept 13 at Area 51 in LA, and For the Community Festival Sept 28 in Houston, TX.

What do you think sets you apart from other bands?

The music is unique, it’s definitely worth listening to. There is something special about the whole creating process – and it comes alive when you listen to the finished product.

Explain why you think a new listener should give your music a go.

The music is a refreshing blend of dreamy vocals mixed with heavy hitting synths and intense, driving beats.

What has been your biggest achievement as a musician, so far?
