In some ways the album The Last Dream Left by the Italian band Againstorm is delicate.
An album in which alternative metal, post grunge and post rock are intertwined and Againstorm with deep thematic themes ranging from social problems, love, friendship and depression, all, very ‘felt’ and if the aim of the band was and is to involve, it has succeeded.
Topics always dealt with but not taken for granted, and perhaps, it is because of the abundance that makes this album interesting.
Topics always dealt with but not taken for granted, and perhaps, it is because of the abundance that makes this album interesting. Some tracks are interesting, such as “Sun’s Cemetery”, which has a sound between dark and indie, or as “Walking on the Fire” that even if they remember Depeche Mode in its deepest moments. Probably the band is influenced by an electronic dark sound as well as by rock.
Whatever Againstorm is musically influenced by, it can create a stylish sound…
Even the track “Storm” which is much more oriented towards a soft rock style, has a deep dark wave base.
Or the beautiful “Disease (The End)”, delicate and introverted with soft lines that alternate with a more forced sound creating a unique atmosphere.
With “Xth”, which closes the album, Agaistorm manage to be even more incisive, with a melancholic sound, gentle and heartfelt.
It must be said that among the many proposals for alternatives, the band with this work, manages to convey emotions, which is not always taken for granted for a record.
“The Last Dream Left” is an inspired album that lets you inspire, if you love this kind of sound, then Againstorm is the right band for you.
Great debut for this young band.
